AWR1642BOOST: Failed to register Controller

Hello one of the engineers at my customer has recently started working with the AWR1642BOOST and has the below question. Can you please help?

I receive the following error when running the Radar Studio GUI.

Failed to register Controller from "C:\ti\mmwave_dfp_01_00_00_01\rf_eval\radarstudio\Clients\AR1xController\AR1xController.dll"

Could not load file or assembly 'MWArray, Version=2.15.0.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e1d84a0da19db86f' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I have verified that the file that cannot be found is indeed in the specified location. I am wondering what could be causing it to not be located.

This seems to be a WIndows issue. What version of Windows is being used when this issue occurs?

the machine they are using has Windows 7 Enterprise with Service Pack 1.

I am having the exactly the same issue. I am using Windows 10 Pro. I would like to know the fix for the issue.

Hi

Have you installed Matlab Runtime engine as requested in the Radar Studio User's Guide?

Matlab Runtime Engine (Version 8.5.1): It is used to run the Post-Processing utility within Radar Studio.

Hi Michael,

This happened to me last week on a new Windows 10 machine. First I'd recommend that your customer installs Matlab Runtime version 8.5.1 32-bit (32-bit version is a MUST): www.mathworks.com/.../matlab-runtime.html

Next, make sure all four of the Com Ports for the Dev Pack are showing and correct as per the mmWave-DEVPACK User Guide (page 12): www.ti.com/.../swru506.pdf

Lastly, if you are having trouble installing the FTDI drivers in that section you will need to disable the digital signature security measure that is caused by Windows 10. I was able to find this through simple internet search but if you need help then let us know!

Yes, I do have Matlab Runtime Engine(Version 8.5.1) installed.

Xinsi,

You'll need the 32 bit version of the Matlab Runtime Engine.

So I need to install Matlab Runtime 8.5.1 32-bit specifically even if I have a complete Matlab 2017b licence and the 2017b runtime engine??

Thanks for the info!! I poorly assumed that the specified runtime version was the minimum required. Installed the specified version and I have now passed over that error message and am in the GUI. Thanks a ton
