DAC1000EVM compared with TSW1400

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DCA1000EVM, AWR1243

I want to make sure that whether DAC1000EVM is the new radar data capture card which can replace TSW1400 for capturing data in real-time without 10s limitation required by TSW1400

Could you give more information about the advantages compared with TSW1400?

    Hello,

Yes the DCA1000EVM is the new data capture card that can be used instead of the TSW1400 for adc data capture. It is to be used with the mmWave Studio software which enables control of the DCA1000 for capture and basic post processing.

Yes, the main advantage is the ability to do longer and faster data capture compared to the TSW. It is not limited to 10s data capture. There are limitations due to ehternet data transfer rate and memory available. Please refer to section 10. Limitations of the User's Guide for the data rate limits depending on packet delay the user selects. In default conditions, Ethernet throughput varies up to 325 Mbps speed in a 25-µs Ethernet packet delay .

It does not require the devpack like the TSW did. You would just need the mmWave EVM (14xx or 16xx) and the DCA1000EVM. The size is also considerably smaller.

     Best,

    Amanda

  • Hi, Do you mean that AWR1243 is not suitable for DCA1000?
