Hi all:
I used the tmp116n in a temprature probe, but when it work, the data readed from the ic was about to 100 degrees Celsius, i tested the i2c and power's waveform, it's ok. And i touched the ic surface, it was very hot.
Finally, I removed the power souce of the probe, and then powered it on again. the probe became ok, the data readed form ic was similar to rom temprature. so, i think the ic was heating itself.
So, I want to know what may caused this issue?

Yes, I also think somewhere short, and i guess the short is inside tmp116 because after i repower on the tmp116, it's become ok.
The schematic and PCB of the probe board are very simple, you can see them in the picture below. And i did not change anything about the board.
Does strong mechanical vibration or ESD may cause this issue?

Yestoday, i found the problem happened not only on temprature probe but also on our handle device used TMP116, you can see the picture as below, i used the thermal couple to measure the TMP116's surface temprature, it's about 56℃,but the temprature around the TMP116 is under 50℃.

All these self-heating issues were happend during a 0.5m high drop test. If the device keep static, it's ok.
And the picture as below is the temperture captured by the TMP116 during the 0.5m high drop test , you can see the temperature runs high suddenly .
So, may the dorp test caused TMP116 self-heating?
