[FAQ] OPT3001: Why does the OPT3001 not have any data taken outside, under sunlight?

Part Number: OPT3001

Why does the OPT3001 not have any data taken outside, under sunlight?

  • The reason we don’t do a lot of this is that outdoor lighting is difficult to control, so the setups and data are not nearly as repeatable as indoors. A cloud passes by and your data changes. At different times of day, the sun is at a different angle, so we have cosine effects, and it goes through different thicknesses of the atmosphere. Different times of the year also have this effect.
