Linux/DRV5012: Linux drivers

Part Number: DRV5012
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV5056,

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

We're looking to add support for DRV5012 and DRV5056 sensors. Is there a Linux driver for either of these?

Thanks!

  • Hello Rhys,

Thank you for interest in our DRV5012 and DRV5056. These devices do not have any pins for any communication protocol. One device provides an analog output to be measured by an ADC, while the other latches high or low according to a set threshold and can be detected on a GPIO.  As for the EVMs for these devices, both do not have any connection to the data-lines of the USB connector (only the power is connected). I think your best bet is to get a driver for an MSP430 or MSP432 device, which can be paired with the DRV5012 or DRV5056.
