AWR1642BOOST: Increasing the number of zones in Occupancy Detection demo

I was wondering if it is possible to set 4 or 5 occupant zones for Occupancy Detection demo (I’m using Automotive toolbox 1.2.0). I tried changing the zone definition in the chirp configuration as,

“zoneDef 4 13 16 9 15 13 16 27 15 40 16 9 15 40 16 27 15” to set 4 zones but I’m getting an error (from both Matlab script and executable GUI) that maximum zone limit reached. Can someone please help me to increase the number of occupancy zones to 4 or 5?

Hello Abit,
This application is limited with Max 2 zones.
#define ODDEMO_MAX_ZONES 2

You need to modify the application and matlab script to support more zones.

Is there any reason why it was limited to 2 zones?

Can the number of maximum zones be increased with only variable value change or is there any additional modification required?

It was started with 2 zones map to two passenger seats.
You need to check the source code wherever zone variable is being used and modified those to required no.

Hopefully only MACRO 'ODDEMO_MAX_ZONES' change should be okay but you need to do this experiment.

Matrix dimensions must agree.

Error in od_demo>zone_occupDetect (line 1047)

What did you try to change the maximum number of zones to? It should be a multiple of two.

I just increased the MACRO 'ODDEMO_MAX_ZONES' value to 4 as advised above and build the code. Also updated the zone definition in the configuration to "zoneDef 4 13 16 9 15 13 16 27 15 40 16 9 15 40 16 27 15" and run the demo.
