IWR1642BOOST: Can it measure the object 's width and length ?

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1642

Dear experts,

i'm using iwr1642 boost , and have enjoyed the experiments so far

i wonder if it can measure the object (like a book or a glass) width and length.

im looking into 'high accuracy_16xx document' and dont know how to

ill appreciate if you tell me how to do in detail

thanks !

  • Hi,

The IWR1642 can detect the distance of reflecting point to the device. If a book or any object has corners that has good reflection and IWR1642 EVM can detect the range and the dimension could be calculated. I would suggest to make the object highly reflective. For example, wrapping the book with aluminum foil. As to the lab, you could try mmw out-of-box demo or lab0008-autonomous-robotics-ros.

As to high accuracy 16xx lab, it returns one value at a time only -- the highest peak. It doesn't seem to fit your application.

For any question related to other labs, please issue separate ticket so right expert can come to help.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Michelle
