Hi,

I'm working on a project where we are trying to determine fuel adulteration.

For testing purposes we did the measurements for water in a small plastic container. I tried replicating the board settings as in this video:

Unfortunately we aren't getting consistent measurements, the TOF measured values vary a lot, below a picture of the graph

And these are the settings that I'm using:

Is the configuration good for concentration measurement? If not can you help me with a valid config?

Catalin,

Please make sure that your transducer is securely fixed. Try to increase the NUM_AVG to 5 cycles and try this should make the TOF reading more stable.

Thanks for the advice Bharat,

The transducer is well fixed, it was fixed with a hot glue gun.

I tried increasing the NUM_AVG to 5 cycles but I get the same results.

Please follow the instructions in the application note for TDC1000-C2000 EVM:

Additionally the reflected waves from the sides of container might be able redirected back to the transducer. In case the container is too small it may find reflections from all sides of the container back to the transducer and that might create fluctuations.

Also make sure you use a 1MHz transducer.
