FDC2214EVM: GUI

Part Number: FDC2214EVM

Dear TI

Here are my questions:

1. If i use the external oscillator, should I put the value 40Mhz for oscillation frequency in (GUI)?

2. What does it mean by  Settle Count Code and Reference Count Code? And what value should i put on it?

3. Does the Idrive Code automatically change if the target is far from the sensor?

  • Hi Janine,
We've got your request. We will get back to as soon as possible.

  • Hi Janine,
    Please find my answers below:

    1. You can use any value in the range of 2MHz to 40MHz. But, I would recommend using the maximum value possible for better resolution.

    2. Settle count is the time the device waits for the oscillation to stabilize. The default value for this is good, so you don't have to change this in the GUI.

Reference Count is the amount of time the device needs to get the sensor frequency measurement. Longer Rcount can help with higher resolution. Just for your information, sample rate and Rcount are inversely proportional.

    3. No the IDrive code does not change unless you hit the "Detect IDrive Init" button in the GUI.

  • Hi Bala

    1. What is the maximum input range for Reference Count?

    2. Please help me understand the "Sensor Initialization Sensor" Setting.

If I use the channel 2, do i need to enable the "high current sensor drive" and disable the "low power sensor activation mode"?

  • Hi Janine,
I believe your questions were answers is another recent thread. I will go ahead and close this thread.
