LDC1000EVM: How can I modify this LDC sensor to work as an LVDT

How I can modify an LDC to measure the displacement of the glenoid component loosening from the bone substitute (basically measure the edge displacement as seen in figure). Usually LVDT's are used but I want to modify LDCs to be used instead.

Gis,

The LDC1000 is NRND, so I recommend using the LDC1612/LDC1614 instead.

Is this linear position sensing app note relevant to this application?

In this forum Chris Oberhauser66 mentions recreating LVDTs from LDCs. But notes that design modifications needed to be made. What types of design modifications are needed to measure lateral displacement? Can the specs for the LDC1612/LDC1614 satisfy the specs listed below?

Specs Needed:
Measurement Sensitivity (mm): 0.01
range of distance (mm) : ≤ 5

The linear position sensing app note I linked to earlier is the closest collateral that we have that is relevant to this application. Please review it and post if you have questions.

Please note that we are focused on providing device level support. We cannot provide much guidance on the sensor and system design beyond what we already have in app notes.
