AWR1642BOOST: Why are the value from noise profile different from the ones on demo visualizer?

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642

I have flashed the demo visualizer binary on my AWR1642. When I retrieve the noise profile TLV, the values are around 60 - 70 dB. However, when I use the Demo Visualizer app on the browser and I see the noise profile plot, I see that the values of noise profile are around 30 - 40 dB.

My question is why is there a difference between the values seen on the TLV and the ones retrieved on Demo Visualizer? Does the Demo Visualizer app does any processing to those values that explains this difference?

Best regards,

José Castanheira

  • Also, I forgot to mention, but the plotted values retrieved from the noise profile TLV have a wave form very similar to the one on Demo Visualizer, which leads me to believe that the values of Demo Visualizer are somehow shifted when comparing to the ones from the TLV.

  • Hi,

There is some normalization performed by the Visualizer.

To see the src code of the visualizer by pressing F12.

This will help you understand the normalization performed by the visualizer on the TLV data

    Good luck with your project

    thank you
