TIDEP-0092: Power Sequencing between AWR1642 & LP8752

Part Number: TIDEP-0092
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642,

Hi,

Per the TIDEP-0092, the AWR1642 receives all the 4 rails from PMIC (LP8752). But since PMIC is enabled by the the AWR1642 via I2C and enable signals from AWR1642, this implies AWR1642 has to be powered first before it can activate PMIC, which would not be possible since all the 4 rails going to AWR1642 originate from PMIC. Is this accurate?

Kindly clarify the power sequencing between PMIC and AWR1642. Specifically, which device come on first and on which rail?

Thanks,

John

  • Hello John,

The PMIC can be reprogrammed via I2C from the AWR1642, but this is not needed during power up. The supplies will come on from the PMIC without any intervention from the AWR1642. The order of the rails is not important as long as they all come up before NRESET is released.

    Regards,

    Adrian
