FDC1004-Q1: Operating temperature range

Part Number: FDC1004-Q1

Hi,

I have a question about operating temperature range.
We want to use this part in application where temperature can reach 150deg C.
Is it safe to operate at this temperature?
What is expected to happen, temporary accuracy degradation or permanent damage?

Best Regards,
Marek Podziewski

  • Hi Marek,

150 degrees C is both the absolute maximum storage temperature and the absolute maximum junction temperature (table 7.1 in the datasheet). The note below that table says "These are stress ratings only, which do not imply functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under Recommended Operating Conditions. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability."

In short, operating the device at this temperature could damage it or affect its reliability. We do not test the operating device up to 150 degrees C, so we cannot predict how it could fail and whether or not any failures would result in permanent damage to the device.

    Best Regards,
