FDC2212: Inductor vs frequency

Part Number: FDC2212

Hello;

Inductor value is change with frequency, for example

Inductor value change 10.47uH to 10.56uH when frequency change 1mHz to 5mHz.

product.tdk.com/.../info

when Capacitance is measure, frequency changing is occur and frequency effect inductor value, so measurement fault is arise.

So, How do effect of inductor reduce?

This subject is started at : https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors/f/1023/t/798074?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=fdc2212

Because of subject change to frequency effect on inductor, I open new topic.

Best Regards.

  • This is normal behavior for inductors. The effect of this is that there might be some non-linear behavior across your measurement region. Through testing, you can create a compensation curve.

    Please note that inductive and capacitive sensing is normally used to measure a physical event, such as detecting an approaching hand, liquid level sensing, etc. So the small inductance dependency on frequency is not as important.
