Here is another question. We are looking for Software-routines to programm the device. In the zip-File under

tidcf48.zip\TIDA-010021-ProximitySensing\opt3101

we find only *.h-files. Were are the corespondig *.c-files?

Have you found the missing c-files?

I have another question:

Because i want to measure higher distances (about 40m), using a laser-diode is mandatory. Do you have a schematic-sugestion for such diode (because thex need more current than the OPT3101 can deliver).

Hi Wolfgang,

I am looping in one of my colleagues to provide the code.

Regarding the laser. If the current required is higher than OPT3101 can provide (also keep in mind OPT3101 is duty cycled when computing the max current for the emitter) then an external driver can also be used. You have to ensure that the rise and fall time of the driver will meet the OPT3101 10MHz spec.

So, connecting the Diode directly to a Fet-Driver like MIC4416 or simmiliar is ok?
