DRV5033: Application consultation

Hi team,

                 I have one question in using DRV5033:

                  If the magnet is sensed on the side of Hall, which direction is better for Hall to place?

  • Hello Wu,

    The DRV5033 is an omnipolar device (sensitive to both N and S poles), so I can't say which direction is better without understanding more about your application. What type of movement are you trying to sense? Where is the DRV5033 on the PCB?

    Also keep in mind that the magnet cannot be exactly in plane with the DRV5033. It must be slightly above or below in order to provide a field in the correct axis of sensitivity. See the picture below for a clearer explanation.
