TMP112: Question about calibration condition

Guru 19475 points
Part Number: TMP112

Please let me know about three points below for TMP112 accuracy of datasheet page-1;

①What is the mean of "Without" Calibration?

②Is there different spec for Calibration and Without Calibration?

③Datasheet page-10 Table-1 is described about calibration "Yes", is this calibration the same as datasheet page-1?

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • Hi Satoshi-san,

    Thanks for your question. It's one we've had a few times before so I understand the confusion. This post explains why this text appears the way it does. Let me answer your questions directly though.

    "Without calibration" in this case means without additional calibration from the end user. We ship these parts with the level of accuracy specified in the datasheet.

    No, we cannot predict the quality or nature of any calibration done by the end user after we ship the parts, so we can't offer a specification here. Additional calibration can help remove some of the temperature error added by external factors such as layout though.

    Yes, we used to provide slope data for the TMP112 for estimating worst case accuracy after calibration. The text on page 1 and page 10 was to make the user aware of that.

    Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Hi

    Can you provide TMP112A slope data for my reference

  • Hi Chen,

    Here is a copy of a TMP112 datasheet revision which still had the slope information (See section 8.1.1). Keep in mind that while the information in this section should still be correct, this datasheet revision itself is now considered obsolete.
