DCA1000EVM: RadarLinkImp_setSytemType not found

Hello,

I am having issues getting mmWave Studio running. On startup, I get the following error:

[15:52:21]  Exception message is:
[15:52:21]  Unable to find an entry point named 'RadarLinkImpl_setSystemType' in DLL 'RadarLinkDLL.dll'.

Which version of mmWave Studio are you using?

I am using mmWave Studio 2.1.0.0 on Windows 10.

Have you connected your mmWave EVM to your PC before? Have you connected your DCA1000EVM to your PC? Both devices should be connected and verified that the drivers have been installed correctly before opening mmWave Studio.

Please refer to section 2.3 "USB Interface and Drivers" of the mmWave Studio User Guide that is included in the docs folder.

Yes, I have connected it before.

The DCA1000EVM is also connected (both via Ethernet and via the "RADAR_FTDI" USB port).

Alexander,

Make sure that this file "RadarLinkDLL.dll" is located in this file directory: C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_01_00_00\mmWaveStudio\RunTime

If it is not, then you will need to reinstall mmWave Studio and do so in Administrator mode to make sure this file is extracted to this folder.

The file does exist.
Reinstalling mmWave Studio does not fix this error.

Alexander,

It looks like you may have an issue on your PC, whether it's related to any security protocols or antivirus software.

As you can see in my attached screenshot, the "RadarLinkDLL.dll" file clearly shows up and is included in the installation.

You should consult your IT team to allow this installation of mmWave Studio without removing any source files upon the completion of the installer.

Kyle,

as I said, the file does exist.
Also, beside Windows Defender, there is no AntiVirus software or security protocols installed on my system.

Alexander,

Please make sure that you have all of the other software prerequisites installed on your machine as well. The most important file would be the MATLAB runtime engine. Make sure to install version 8.5.1 (32-bit). Do not install the 64-bit version.

the correct Matlab runtime version 8.5.1 (32-bit) is installed, this does not seem to be the issue.

I am able to reproduce this problem on a fresh Windows 8.1 installation.

Alex,

Windows 8.1 is not a recommend Windows OS for TI devices. Either Windows 7 or Windows 10 are recommended.
