IWR6843ISK: IWR6843

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, IWR6843

Dear Technical Support,

I took all the day to try to configure the mmWave Studio and I never succeeded in configuring the SPI correctly.

Here are my setings:

Please could you advise so that I can speed up my work?

Thanks and best regards.

  • Jiabing fan,

Switch setting on the S1 (1 to 12) seem to be incorrect, It has been set to operate in "Stand alone" Mode of operation

Please change the switch setting as shown below.

Also please ensure QSPI flash is erased, before using mmWave studio.

    Thanks and regards,

    CHETHAN KUMAR Y.B.

  • Hi KUMAR Y.B,

I just changed the switch Settings, but it still doesn't work, and I have the same problem as before. Is there any problems with my DCA1000 Switch setings on

SW1 and SW2.I'm a beginner and I don't konw how to ersae the QSPI flash, please tell me how to do that.

mmWave Studio user's guide say that "If SPI connect does not succeed you may need to erase the serial flash and try again using the Uniflash tool."How do I do that.

       Thanks and regards,

       Jiabing fan

  •  Jiabing fan,

Please refer to below user-guide for the Uniflash.

    http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/uniflash/mmwave/mmwave_uniflash_user_guide_v1.0.pdf

You need to download the Uniflash tool from the below location and format the flash and connect to mmWave studio.

  • Hi CHETHAN KUMAR Y.B,

I replaced an IWR6843 chip, which can collect data. But I am quite sure that the original chip is good。I ran vital signs demo on the original chip, so the

subsequent data collection could not be carried out. Is it possible? If so, how can I restore the original IWR6843 to a mode that can collect data?

    Thanks and regards,

     Jiabing fan

  •  Jiabing fan,

We are not able to follow what is your intention, Could you please elaborate what is your objective?

From the above request it appears that you had vital sign demo that was running earlier, and you wanted to connect to DCA1000, And that requires flash to be empty before connecting to DCA1000, hence you need to use the Uniflash to erase the flash. And above statement says you have replaced IWR6843 chip. Did you replaced the IWR6843 chip or Did you erase the flash content on the QSPI flash device?

    Thanks and regards,

    CHETHAN KUMAR Y.B.

  • CHETHAN KUMAR Y.B. ,

I want to use IWR6843 and DAC1000 to collect data on human movement.I used this IWR6843 to run several TI demos before, such as VItal signs,

then SPI connection problems occurred when I used it to collect data with DAC1000 .  Finally, I replaced a new IWR6843. This chip has not run TI demo

before, then it can normally collect data without SPI connection problems. My question is whether I have run TI demo before, which caused the problem when

I connected  DCA1000 later to collect data.If so, how can I restore the IWR6843, which has run the demo , so that it can also collect data later like the

    new IWR6843 ?

    Thanks and regards,

     Jiabing fan

  • Jiabing fan,

For configuring back Vital signs demo you may want to look at the below link for demo restoration.

This link has step by step procedure to flashing the demo binary as well.
