IWR6843ISK: Unable to connect to Demo Visualizer using IWR6843ISK

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH,

Hi there,

i am unable to connect my IWR6843ISK to the demo visualizer. I am able to run the IWR6843ISK traffic monitoring labs and i am able to use uniflash to flash the metadata into the IWR6843ISK to do the traffic monitoring demo using the GUI application. During the setup of the IWR6843ISK i have correctly using the correct serial port. But whenever i press "send config to the mmwave device" it will show that com port 10 is "waiting for data". I am hoping if someone could provide me some directions on how should i go about troubleshooting. I have tried many stuff and so far i can't seem to breakthrough this problem.

Some questions i have back in my mind are:
May i know when using the demo visualizer, do i need to short my SOP2 pin in "flashing" or "operational" mode?

Do i need to flash any configuration file into the device using uniflash?

  • Just to provide more info when i press the NRST Switch when  the device is being shown "connecting to 2 of 2 targets"

At the console it will flash out this message

  • Sherwin,

Are you trying to use the online visualizer with traffic monitoring lab?

    Thanks

    Yogesh

  • Hi Yogesh,

I was trying to use the demo visualizer to configure and play around with how the different perimeter affects the radar range and accuracy. I was using the traffic monitoring lab as an example that i was able to flash meta image and read from the correct serial port on my computer. My objective currently now is to be able to configure some of the perimeters on the demo visualizer page to have a better understanding on how the different perimeters affects the device accuracy and range. I have been trying to get it connected for a week already, thus i am asking help if i have missed out anything that i did wrongly.

    I am currently using:

    mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_1_0

    mmwave_sdk_03_03_00_03

    uniflash_5.2.0

IWR6841ISK with the evm board 2.0

  • I have solved my problem by using the ROS driver way by using roslaunch to launch a .launch file and then after that connecting it to the demo visualizer. I found out that i could then connect to the visualizer through this way.
