Hi all,
I would like to know the long term stability of both the light spectrum and ADC Gain.
In general, Si photodiodes seem to deteriorate over time in the ultraviolet region. Does the OPT3002 do the same thing?
Regards,
Toshi

Hello Toshi,
I wanted to let you know that the device expert is out of the office due to the holidays, he will be back in the office next week.
Hi Toshi,
What type of UV light exposure is expected in your application? Could you also please provide some details on the application and use case? We have seen that the OPT package can start to yellow under prolonged UV light and that would be my main concern. As the package yellows this can change the spectral resonsivity of the sensor as the package is no longer transparent to all colors equally. For use like this under UV light that is strong enough we recommend placing a material on top of the sensor to block the UV light and protect the package.
Best,
Alex
