AWR1642BOOST-ODS: Chirp parameter T_c

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST-ODS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDEP-0104,

Hello,

Right now I have a AWR1642BOOST-ODS and the TIDEP-0104 running. There I want to "play" with the chirp parameters.

I have read the whitepaper "The fundamentals of millimeter wave" (1), the document "Programming Chirp Parameters in TI Radar Devices" (2) and the "mmwave_sdk_user_guide" (3). I'm using the image on page 18 in (3) for visualiation.

The time T_c in (2) is defined on page 4 as 'Total Chirp time', which includes chirp time + idle time. Then it is used in the formular v=lamda/4*T_c.

In (1), page 3, Figure 2, T_c is defined only as the slope without the idle time, so I guess that would be 'ADC Smpling Time' + 'ADC Valid Start Time'. Then this T_c is used on page 5 in (1) again in the formular v=lamda/4*T_c.

Since there are two different definitions of T_c but the formulars are the same I dont know which definition is the right one.

Can you clarify which definition of T_c is the right one and what 'chirp time' on page 4 in (2) means?

Thank you.
