Hi,

I want to configure the ES 2.0 ODS board to have the full +/- 60 degrees FoV for both azimuth and elevation. I rebuilt the new 3D people counting lab DSS and MSS using "method 2" to have the larger, pre-defined L2/L3 cache for full FoV support. However, I was only able to configure the ODS to be +/- 50 degrees in both azimuth and elevation. The demo would not pass calibration stage if I feed any larger value to config.

Could you provide some guidance for getting the full FoV running for this lab?

I would also like to know if the virtual antenna geometry would need to be mapped differently in cfg for full azimuth and elevation FoV support.

Hi Bing,

Currently, there is a limit because the space is divided into angle bins. So increasing the FOV increases the number of angle bins, which increases memory use. However, you can decrease the number of angle bins without decreasing the FOV by increasing the size of each angle bin (This will also make the demo more sensitive to motion, as there will be more energy in each bin). This is accomplished by modifying the same command that is modified to increase the FOV.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for answering. Could you tell me which command you are referring to regarding increase the FOV? After resized L2/L3 in method 2 build, I was only able to set FoVCfg to a maximum +/- 50.0 degrees for Azimuth and Elevation. I was hoping it would be the full +/- 60.0 degrees (or even +/- 70.0 like the azimuth in this demo). Were you referring to another config command? If so, how should it be modified?

Hi Bing,

I was referring to a different command.

fovCfg 60 60 gives the FOV you want.

To reduce the memory use and get the full 60x60, you need to change the "dynamicRangeAngleCfg" the first value sets the size of the angle bins, increasing this value will decrease memory use.

Hello,

I just want to verify that the setting "fovCfg 60 60" is actually +/- 60 degrees and will give me 120degrees in the Azimuth and Elevation direction? Thanks
