Team,
My customer is using the TMP422-Q1 automotive version of the TMP422 dual temperature sensor. While doing timing analysis on the I2C interface there is a hold time issue when writing data out to the TMP422-Q1 device. The processor I2C interface has 0ns out output hold after the falling edge of the SCL signal. The TMP422-Q1 has a hold time requirement of 25ns on its input data. When looking at the standard TMP422 datasheet that part has 0ns hold time requirement.
TMP422-Q1 datasheet:
TMP422 datasheet:
Why is the hold time requirement so different between the standard and automotive parts?
Does Note (1) of the standard part apply to the automotive part as well? “For case where fall time of SCL is less than 25ns and/or the rise or fall time of SDA is less than 25ns, the hold time should be greater than 25ns.”
Thanks,
Aaron
