TMP1075: Timeout

Part Number: TMP1075

Hi,

Timeout condition is specified "Timeout (SCL = SDA = GND)" on the datasheet.

However it is also said that "The TMP1075 resets the serial interface if SDA is held low for 25 ms (typical) between a START and STOP condition.".

I checked on actual device, it entered timeout condition on SDA=GND condition.

Is "Timeout (SCL = SDA = GND)" typo?

Best Regards,

  • Hi Kuramochi-San,

I agree the line SCL=SDA=GND is confusing, it believe the datasheet writer was trying to indicate that holding either SCL or SDA low would trigger a timeout condition on the TMP1075.

It is simpler to understand the TMP1075 timeout as a requirement that the I2C transaction be completed (START to STOP) within 25ms (typ). If the device does not see a complete transaction in that time, it will assume something has gone wrong and reset the interface.
