thanks for your reply.

I'm doing some tests with the DRV5055 in the configuration you suggested.

Is there any way to compensate the sensor/magnet airgap variation using this configuration or I this can be done only having a sensor with sin and cos output?

    You should be able to calibrate your system to account for mechanical and sensor variations. This would require placing the magnet at known locations to allow you to account for this variation and to determine peak values.  Without performing calibration, the peak values as the magnet passes the sensor will be unknown.  However, you should still be able to determine when the magnet is centered above the middle sensor using the configuration shown in the referenced post.
