AWR1642BOOST-ODS: AWR1642BOOST-ODS

Part Number: AWR1642BOOST-ODS
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642, , AWR1642BOOST

Hello,

I am using AWR1642 Boost ods (Rev B),what is the max range coverage by this board? Am getting only 3m, how can i increase the range?

  • Hello Greeshma,

Please see the AWR1642BOOST-ODS page for details.

The maximum range possible with this EVM is about 15m .

    Thanks,

    Raghu

  • Sir,

I am using this board for obstacle detection and am getting only 3 metres. Is it possible to increase the range above 3 metres using the software ods_3D_Visualiser?

    Thank you.

    Greeshma

  • Yes,

    This should be possible.

Please note that the only processing chain supported on this EVM is the following lab provided in the TI Resource Explorer

    mmwave_automotive_toolbox_2_9_1\labs\lab0004_obstacle_detection

The mmwave SDK OOB demo will "run" on the board but the angle information will not be correct because the SDK demo is designed for AWR1642BOOST antenna pattern and not AWR1642BOOST-ODS.

To modify the chirp configuration provided with this lab, please first understand the syntax of the commands. The syntax used is the same as for mmwave SDK demo.

So please read the SDK UG, section "3. 4. Configuration (.cfg) File Format"

    C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_02_01_00_04\docs\mmwave_sdk_user_guide.pdf

After you understand the syntax, you will need to modify the chirp configuration.

Using the mmwave sensing estimator may help

    https://dev.ti.com/gallery/view/mmwave/mmWaveSensingEstimator/ver/1.4.0/

    Thank you
