TMP75: Judgment criteria for TMP sensor disconnect

Part Number: TMP75
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP1075

Hi team,

My customer is using our TMP75.

They would like to know whether their FW can use NAK to be the TMP sensor disconnect judgment criteria.

If not, do you have suggested function for it? Thanks.

  • Hi Feng Bin Su,

    Thank you for your post.

This should work provided the rest of their setup is correct. There are other reasons that the TMP75 may NAK a byte, such as bad I2C timing or voltage levels, but these wont be a problem on a well designed system.

Assuming everything else is working, sending an address byte and checking for a NAK is a good way to see if the TMP75 is still connected.

You may also want to have them take a look at the TMP1075, this a newer version of the TMP75 that is pin-to-pin and software compatible.

    Best Regards,
