Hi,

We need to be able to use the rl_sensor API to generate a CW for production and certification testing - there is no provision to use DCA1000 and mmWave studio for this test.

If I look into the SDK3.3 I see the API rlDeviceSetContStreamingModeConfig() should be the one to use but it also says in the comments the below -

This API is valid only when mmWaveLink instance is running on External Host Processor

Does this mean that i cannot us on IWR6843 ? If not then how should I proceed ?

Hello,

Within the Certification folder of the downloaded Industrial Toolbox there are LUA scripts that can be used to generate a CW signal. The application note provides more details: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/spracp3/spracp3.pdf

While it is not necessary to use DCA1000, this requires use of the 6843 module + mmWaveICBOOST carrier board and mmWave Studio software. Setup the carrier board for standalone mode (not for use with DCA1000). Instead of routing the commands through the FTDI of the DCA1000, connect the USB to the FTDI on the carrier board.

I see the LUA scripts - but we dont have the SPI port connection on our board for the binary loads - is there an approach to flash these programs ?

Alternatively can the calls made to the binaries be made through mmWavelink from an MSS application and normal BSS binary patch?

Is there an approach that for CW generation we are able to call a standard API from customer application versus using mmWave studio ?

This is the method we currently have. However I understand your point and the need for being able to do implement this without mmWave studio/DCA1000 and will give this input back to the team.
