OPT101: Responsivity vs Temperature

Hi,

Good day. I hope you are doing fine there.

Our customer wants to know if we have a graph that shows the OPT101 Responsivity vs Temperature. For example, if TA = 25 °C and other condition is Ta =30 °C then would the temperature will have an effect to the device responsivity/performance?

In addition, the customer is using the OPT101 to detect a laser light pulse. they want to understand that if the received light on OPT101 surface will increase photo diode temp or not?

I would appreciate if you could help us provide this information.

Hi Cedrick,

Voltage output vs temperature is a spec in the electrical characteristics table of the datasheet. There are also a number of other specs and plot relating to temperature, but this is probably the one you are looking for.

It is possible for a laser pulse to heat the photodiode. This will depend on a number of factors (wavelength, duration, etc) and may only be relevant for high power lasers.

hello Sir,

My pulse input has following characteristics.

Pulse On time=100 us,

pulse period =500 ms,

frequency=2 Hz,

total pulsing time =27 Second

my laser diode is 2 W power ,power on opt101 is in uW range

it can heat opt101 ?

Hi,

For this level best would be to test temperature of the sensor with the laser on or off to confirm.
