AWR1243: AWR1243 to AWR2243 Migration

Is there information available on the migration path from AWR1243 to AWR2243 chipset? I have examined the two pinouts and they look very similar, but I would like some more information on transitioning existing designs which utilize AWR1243 for the new chipset.

    Hi Andrew, 

    With respect to hardware migration the two devices are pinlist and footprint identical. If a system was designed for AWR1243 then it is already designed for AWR2243. This is how we approached our recent update to the MMWCAS-RF-EVM as well. No layout changes were made when switching to AWR2243. 

    Software wise, the core API described in the DFP ICD documents is also the same between the devices. However, there will likely be additional API available on AWR2243 going forward that will not be available on AWR1243. Please check the released DFP ICD for additional details.
