Which ADC should I use for my analog temperature sensor? Can I use the internal ADC of an MSP430 or SimpleLink MCU? (i.e. MSP432, CC2652, CC3220/CC3235 or CC1352)
Yes, it is possible to use the internal MSP430 ADC for this purpose. The MSP430 portfolio offers between 8 and 24 bits of ADC resolution along with choices of SAR or ∑Δ. A designer/developer can visit this page and choose MSP430 with ADC they prefer based on the requirements of their application.
With the SimpleLink platform of devices the MSP432P4 stands out as it has a precision 16 bit resolution SAR ADC inside. The other MCUs in that portfolio generally have a 12 bit ADCs and can be leveraged effectively directly or averaging/oversampling techniques can be applied via simple firmware to increase the resolution.

Note that the high precision temperature sensors in our portfolio should be used with highest resolution ADC allowed by the other requirements or constraints of the application so as to not limit the accuracy of the temperature measurement.
