HDC2080: What will be the effect of conformal coating over HDC2080, if masking is not provided?

Hi

We are having HDC2080 on PCB and planning to do conformal coating as the device will be used for lower temperature and excessive humid environment.

Do we need to plan to provide masking over the temperature sensor HDC2080? What will be the effect on performance of sensor if masking is not provided?

The liquid used for conformal coating is "Novec-1700, Electronic Grade Coating".

Please guide.

    Dear Gaurav - 

    Conformal coating directly over the HDC2080 will render the device inoperable for the %RH portion of the sensor. So, you should plan on masking that over with die-cut polyimide tape or consider using the HDC2021, then removing the polyimide tape cover that comes pre-applied to that part, after the conformal coating process.
