AWR1843BOOST: Beam forming

Hi,

1) The AWR1843 includes a phase hardware phase shifter the enables TX beamforming. Rx beamforming is usually implemented in software. Most of our demos include Rx beamforming.

2) TIDEP-01021 was implemented using AWR1843BOOST. Notice that on AWR1843BOOST the layout of the antenna is not optimal for 3Tx beamforming. The optimaly layout for Beamforming would be the 3Tx antenna in the same row. Therefore it is possible to have better bf performance with a different antenna layout.

So that mean, 3Tx antenna are not arranged in a straight line on AWR1843BOOST?

Do you have any prospects for how much it will improve?

The estimate is that the AWR1843 beamforming max range with custom antenna would be 180-200m
