TMP61-Q1: what is happened if neg pin and pos pin connect opposite?

Part Number: TMP61-Q1

Hello Team,

my customer is using NTC thermistor.

NTC doesn't have pos and neg pin.

However, TMP61-Q1 has pos and neg pin and each pin needs to connect right voltage.

If pos pin voltage is lower than neg pin voltage, what does TMP61-Q1 happen?

Can the customer find their mistake?

ex, if opposite connection has been happened, resistor value seems open or short.

If so, the customer can find their mistake easy.

Could you please advise about customer concern?

Best Regards,

Yuki

  • YY,

If the polarity of the TMP61-Q1 is not met, you will notice an erroneous resistance value. This could be something like 500Ω.. it would be a value that is outside of the characterized resistance curve (about 6k-17kΩ).

No damage would occur to the device however and if the polarity is fixed the device will begin to function properly.
