IWR6843AOPEVM: IWR6843AOPEVM(E2.0) vital sign lab

Part Number: IWR6843AOPEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST, MMWAVEPOEEVM, IWR6843AOP

Hello. I`m David.

I have one question. I bought iwr6843aopevm(E2.0) and tested the board for Vital sign lab.

before buying this board I tried IWR6843AOPEEVM(1.0) and it was worked well.

But now vital sign lab doesn't work. same flash and industrial tool box and newest one.

This problem is from my mistake or ti new board cannot support vital signlab?

  • Dear David:

Can you please verify that in your setup that you are using a MMWAVEICBOOST. If you do have the MMWAVEICBOOST in your setup can you please flash the device with the following binary:

    <Industrial Toolbox Install PATH>\labs\vital_signs\68xx_vital_signs\prebuilt_binaries\vital_signs_demo_68xx.bin

Let me know if you can run the demo by using this binary, assuming you have MMWAVEICBOOST.

    Best regards,

    Connor Desmond

  • Hi Connor

We have the exact same problem.

    Hardware:
    - IWR6843AOPEVM
    - MMWAVEBOOST
    - MMWAVEPOEEVM (not used)

    Software:
    - Code Composer Studio, Version: 10.0.0.00010
    - mmwave_sdk_03_04_00_03
    - mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_3_2
    - xdctools_3_50_08_24_core
    - xdctools_3_61_00_16_core
    etc.

    Any solution?

We wanted to use "vital_signs_68xx_mss" or "vital_signs_68xx_dss" from "C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_3_2\labs\vital_signs\68xx_vital_signs"

One issue we solved so far (compilation not possible) is that the projects in "C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_3_2\labs\vital_signs\68xx_vital_signs" apparently have a wrong path seeting in .cproject file provided. It refers to the file "C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_04_00_03\firmware\radarss\xwr6xxx_radarss_rprc.bin", which however is non existent. The file seems to have been renamed to "C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_04_00_03\firmware\radarss\iwr6xxx_radarss_rprc.bin". (I anx X)

    No data is received.

Prebuilt binaries as suggested do not work.

  • Dear QumJo and David:

Currently we do not support the Vital Signs Demo for the IWR6843AOP ES2.0 device. The provided binaries only work with ES1.0 devices.

    Best regards,

    Connor Desmond

  • Hi Connor

Thanks for the Update. Ups. What went wrong along the way? Can you give a rough estimate on when ES2.0 will be supported? Or can you give a hint on where we need to drill to fix it ourselves?

    Thanks,

    J

  • Dear QumJo:

I can not give out any specifics. All I can say is that we are aware of the issue, and we will keep the community informed of any updates there might be with regards to the status of this issue in the future.
