Hi Team,

My customer would like to find below light sensor solution. Honestly, I have no idea how to choose appropriate solution via ti.com.

Could you let me know how to find in ti.com and how to select and what is the critical spec for light sensor?https://www.ti.com/sensors/specialty-sensors/ambient-light-sensors/products.html

1.0~2000 lux, resolution 5 lux

2.0~10000 lux, resolution 1 lux

Hi Roy,

Please check OPT3004 for both applications. What is the end application? If it is a wearable then you may want to look at OPT3007 for the smaller size. If not OPT3004 should works great for both your requirements.

Hi Alex,

Small size isn't required.The application is motorcycle. Do we have corresponding solution which could operate in -30C~125C temp?

Hi Roy,

If automotive then OPT3001-Q1 would be best as this has the automotive qualification. We have a grade 2 version of this device that is qualified for automotive grade 2 up to 110C, which is actually unique for light sensors. However, we do not have up to 125C mainly due to not really seeing a need for this. What is the reason for them needing up to 125C? Will 110C not work in this application? Can you give some more details on the applications and use case as well?

Hi Alex,

The application is panel for motor cycle cluster. Because motor cycle should overcome the worse environment condition, so they need wide temp solution.

I had promoted out OPT3001-Q1 if could meet their requirments.
