IWR6843AOP: IWR6843AOP

Part Number: IWR6843AOP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST

I want prototyping with IWR6843AoP board. But i have doubt about Max Velocity

My prototype's objective  : Capture Velocity and 3D trajectory of Golf Ball at short range ( 1 meter to 10 meter or more ?  ) . So when detecting golf ball departure  i can trigger saving captured video. Then i will analyze video and ball trajectory.

My prototype's design : Simple Rasberry PI4 + camera + IWR6843AoP

My questions :

- Do you think IWR6843AOP is just enough easy to use solution ?

- I used the mmWave Sensing Estimator to find configuration as shown in the attached image. With Max Velocity to 300 KMH. Do you think is compatible with IWR6843AoP  ?

- I will need mmWaveICBoost and  IWR6843AoP to test right ?

Regards

    Hello,

Can you please reattach your sensing estimator configuration or copy paste the hyperlink to your configuration? The attachment had an error.

You can use the AOP device to capture point cloud detection of a moving object (mmWaveICBOOST not needed unless CCS debug functionality desired). You should run the OOB demo from the mmWave SDK.

Realistically, 300 KMH can be quite difficult but please provide the sensing estimator configuration for further comment.

  • Yes you are right, I focused on the "no errors are found" message. I Did not see the negative values on the output chirp.

So, what is the maximum velocity I can reach for small object with mmWave ? maybe Texas instrument has other types of technologies ?

    regards

    Hello,

Depending on your configuration, the maximum supported velocity would vary but we have designed chirps for tracking objects like rail cars at about 150 KMH.
