IWR6843: mmwave Industrial 4.3.1 problem in running the people counting Firmware on the board

Part Number: IWR6843

Hi ,

I am running the 68xx_3d_people_counting lab project from mmwave Industrial SDK 4.3.1 after bulding it on CCS verion 9.1.0 and mmwave SDK "mmwave_sdk_03_04_00_03". I cannot able to see the visualiser able to detect the person in front of the sensor nor it is sending any UART logs (neither LED blinks). No changes are done in this project from what was available in the Industrial SDK. Just imported the project and build it.

But while I use the prebuilt binaries from the folder (mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_3_1\labs\people_counting\68xx_3D_people_counting\prebuilt_binaries) everything is working. Visualiser is able to show the people , it is sending the UART logs and LED is also blinking.

Don't geting what is the problem happening when I build the project and flash it into the board ? Can someone help me resolve this problem.

Thanks and Regards,

Mohit

  • Hi Mohit,

Thank you for using the E2E support forums. I just recreated the lab scenario on my device and was able to achieve similar performance between the prebuilt binary and the binary built from the CCS source project. Please ensure that you are following the People Counting Lab Project exactly as described in the User Guide.

Some possible points of error could be the following:

    • Ensure you are selecting the “Rebuild Project” button on the each subsystem of the CCS project. Furthermore, make sure that you are rebuilding the DSS folder prior to rebuilding the MSS folder.
    • When flashing the device, ensure that the SOP2 jumper is connected and that the device has been power-cycled using the NRST button. The image binary that you will want to flash onto the device can be located at the following address:

    workspace_v8_<project_name>/3D_people_count_68xx_mss/Debug/3D_people_count_68xx_demo.bin

    • When using the visualizer, ensure that the device is in Functional Mode by removing the SOP2 jumper and power-cycling the device. Also ensure that you are selecting the correct COM ports and CFG files.

If these do not resolve your issue, please let me know and I could offer additional assistance.

    Regards,

    Peter
