Hi,

I am trying to implement labs given for radar in

I am trying to implement short range radar lab on the 1642 EVM. I tested my output in a lab environment. I am getting more object points detected in my GUI , and I am not able to interpret and map those points to real world objects. Has anyone here tested the EVM here? How have the results been?

Hello Swapan,

There might be some additional stray reflections from some of the nearby objects. It would be good to calibrate the device once using a corner reflecttor and then carry out the experiment.

Some questions I have-

1. What is the calibration procedure required . Is there a detailed documentation of the procedure?

2. What should the dimensions of RCS corner reflector be in order to calibrate AWR 1642 or 1843 EVM.

What are the factors considered in that decision?

Hello Swapan,

1. Please refer mmWave SDK document for the calibration procedure for mmw demo

2. There is not standard corner relfector size for this, just that the signal should be strong enough to get a good peak. A 3-5 m^2 RCS corner reflector is typically good enough.
