AWR1443BOOST: 'Unable to locate LabVIEW run-time engine' when clicking TSW1400 button, run mmWave Studio 1.0 demo AWR1443BOOST & AR1xxxEVM

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1443

greetings,

I was un mmWave Studio 1.0 demo AWR1443BOOST & AR1xxxEVM (follow the video https://training.ti.com/dca1000-training-video?context=1128486-1139154-1136663 ), everything goes well.  However,  under the Tab "SensorConfig", right after step "Set" Chirp and before click "TSW1400 ARM", I click the highlighted button "Setup TSW1400". however error pop up told me Unable to locate LabVIEW run-time engine.

However, I installed lvrte2014sp1_f11patch-64std already.

Anyone could help check on that?

Best.

Jet

  • Hello Jet,

Have you installed the Labview runtime engine? As displayed by the message, HSDC Pro requires labView RTE.

Oh I see you already have. Let me consult our expert on this and I will get back to you by Thursday.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hello Jet,

May I know what you're trying to achieve with your experiment here?

I guess you are using AWR1443 device with mmWave DevPack, but do you want to capture data as well? because if yes, you need to connect TSW1400 as well. Can you confirm on this? You didn't mention TSW1400 in your connections, hence just wanted to confirm.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hi Ishita,

Yes, eventually I need to capture data on TSW1400 and I have that board.

But I want to get start to see what mmWaveform is like only with AWR1443+AR1xxxEVM.

    Klye told me (https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors/f/1023/p/943926/3488794#3488794 )

    "

Also, you need to change the capture device in mmWave Studio from DCA1000 to TSW1400 since you are using the MMWAVE-DEVPACK. Even though you are not using the TSW1400, you still need to make this change. ...

    "

I have not reach the step to use TSW1400 but Klye told me check that option at this point.

  • Hello Jet,

Raw ADC data cannot be captured or confirmed with just the AWR device and mmWave-DevPack. TSW1400 is the device that actually captures and stores the raw ADC data. The DevPack just provides the connections that are required to enable this data capture. So basically you will only be able to configure the device and not capture actual data (and hence you're not getting any error until SesorConfig as well)

This information is spelled out in the User's Guide for the DevPack and can be found here: www.ti.com/.../swru506.pdf

Now because you're clicking on "Set up TSW1400" without connecting the board, you're getting this error.

    Hope the information is clear.

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • I later install the HSDC, and the installation install the Lab view again. Now the error never show up.

Therefore, install HSDC may solve the problem
