AWR2243BOOST: Streaming data over USB to Linux Ubuntu

Part Number: AWR2243BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243

Hello,

I have been tasked at my company to test our new AWR2243BOOST board within an automotive pipeline;

I see there is plenty of information about windows usage, but as our code is on Linux we need to have the streaming done to a Linux machine directly.

I can't seem to read the data from usb with any sort of serial library, and would like to know if you may have pointers for me to begin.

Currently we wish to test the system over usb as it's the most convenient system for prototyping, similarly to the way it is setup in this video www.youtube.com/watch

Thank you

  • Hello Sean,

As you might've already noticed, most of our tools are developed in and for a Windows environment, hence at this point, I'm afraid I can't really help you much. But I can point you to a similar thread in the forum which can help you get started, please see below:

Also, I'll keep this thread open to the community, in case they want to add something to this.

    Thankyou for using mmWave devices!

    Regards,

    Ishita

  • Hello Sean,

On top of above thread, you can refer the DCA1000 utility source code and rebuild that tool for Linux OS.

    C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00\mmWaveStudio\ReferenceCode\DCA1000\SourceCode

Refer documentation for the same- C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00\mmWaveStudio\ReferenceCode\DCA1000\Docs

Makfile supports build environment for Windows and Linux

In case you haven't installed mmWave Studio, please install it which contains the above-mentioned source path.

    Regards,

    Jitendra

  • Good morning,

Thank you for your message, I shall look at rebuilding the tools.

The link you provided does not work though as mmwave studio 2 isn't compatible with the AWR2243 as mentionned on the website.

I shall see if there is an equivalent in mmwave 3

    Thank you,

    -Sean

  • Hello Sean,

Yes, please look at the latest mmWave studio version i.e 03_00_00_14. You'll be able to locate the same files there as well.

    Regards,
