Hi,

Hello Tom Li2,
Could you please how IWR6843ISK-ODS Board MSS logger is taken into Other external UART device. ?
Could you please show schematic how the connection is made? which UART tool is being connected?
Is the control UART and Data UART is for external UART tool are different?
Thanks and regards,

Hi ,
thanks for your reply.
you could see there is RADAR_MSS_LOGGER in J1 of iwr6843isk-ods, when you flash the demo bin in labs, "RADAR_MSS_LOGGER" will send radar data out ,this is TX port,
Now I want to connect it with RX of serial tool, then connect to pc via this serial tool , so I can see the data.
My question is that if I need to add a pull up resistance in "RADAR_MSS_LOGGER" output port?
Hello Tom Li2,
Thanks for providing additional info. Pull up resistor may not be necessary.
Are you planning to disconnect MSS logger from IWR6843ODS EVM and connect elsewhere?
MSS_logger is also connected to CP2105 chip which is a USB to UART converter. It also controls the command configuration using control port RS232 TX & Rx UART port shown below.
Could could you please confirm are you changing This UART lines as well.
Also please note, you cannot connect I/Os to external device when VIO is not present to the mmWave sensor. If I/Os are connected to external UART device when you power cycle to the EVM while keeping the UART on would violate below condition. It could cause device to enter into wrong boot mode and will not be able to interface with external UART interface.
Thanks and regards,
