TMP117: calibration data

Part Number: TMP117

Hi Experts,

Could you please clarify the following for a customer:

According to the datasheet, the device has a unique id and one can trace the individual calibration data of the device. is there a process of how this is possible?

  • Hi Simon,

TI can use the unique identifier to match the device to it's specific test result in the factory data logs. The data lookup is manual and not currently available to the public. All devices sold meet the specifications in the datasheet. If a customer has a TI device which does not meet their expectation, we will work with them to identify root cause and corrective action. This is the same quality policy for all TI products.

    thanks,

    ren

  • Thanks a lot, Ren.

That makes sense to me, however, there seem to be customers who require for their end equipment test reports with detailed calibration data.

Did this request not come up before?

  • Hi Simon,

Yes, this request comes up a lot. TMP117 sets a new benchmark for accuracy in an IC temperature sensor. We're being compared to RTDs which come with individual certificates, and we welcome the comparison. However, our IC manufacturing flow doesn't currently support certificates. We stand by our datasheet claims, and we also offer an additional NIST document for TMP117 and other select temperature sensors. The NIST document can be requested on the TMP117 product page.

    thanks,
