IWR1843: Question on post processing in mmwave studio

Part Number: IWR1843

Hi,

In mmwave_studio_user_guide.pdf of mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00, customer found below note.

NOTE: 1. Matlab post processing supports data capture only in following modes

a. 4 RX channel, 4 LVDS lanes

b. 2 RX channels, 2 LVDS lanes

c. 1 RX channel, 1 LVDS lane

But for IWR1843, it has 4 RX and only has 2 LVDS lane.

So does matlab post processing supports data captured by 4 RX channels, 2 LVDS lanes in mmwave studio v2.1.1.0?

I think the doc is not updated correctly. Pls kindly confirm.

  • HI, Chris:

Do you refer to the post processing script located at:

    C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_01_01_00\mmWaveStudio\MatlabExamples\singlechip_raw_data_reader_example

I believe it is support both xwr1843, which is 4 RX, 2 LVDS lane; as well as xwr1443 which is 4 RX, 4 LVDS lane.   It is important to save the matching xxx.setup.json file in order to purse the data properly.

Can you direct me to the documentation you mentioned?

    Best,

    Zigang

  • Zigang,

No. I mean the postproc integrated with mmWave stuido GUI.

  • Hi, Chris:

Thank you for your feedback.  This part of the users guide are all only related to xwr12xx/xwr14xx type of device.  It does not include the information for xwr1642/xwr1843/xwr6843.   I will submit a ticket for this.

    Best,

    Zigang
