TMP100: sensor doesn’t respond to request

Part Number: TMP100

Hello Team,

My customer wanted to useTMP100 in one of their projects. They decided to test it before ordering PCB. The sensor was connected to mcu (stm32f072c8t6) via pull up resistors (4.7k each). Address pins were directly connected to ground. The mcu sent the address (1001000 according to datasheet) but sensor responds by NACK bit. They tried all possible addresses, different clock frequencies and two sensors. Both them sent NACK.

They also should notice that there is another device on the i2c bus with another address. And it works fine.

Have you any suggestions why the sensor doesn’t respond to request?

Regards,

Renan

  • Hi Renan,

To help us troubleshoot please provide some more information:

    1. What clock frequencies have you tried ?
    2. Please provide screen captures from logic analyzer of MCU SDA and SCL during transmission as well as the NACK from the TMP100
    3. Please provide screen captures from oscilloscope of SDA and SCL with focus on rise/fall time

    Thank you,

    Chris
