Hi,

Need to design a heater temperature control loop; for a small chamber, about 1sqft size to a fixed temperature, e.g. 35 C or so. Is there an IC that can read temp sensor and have an output control to drive FETs to control a heater?

Already have PWM controller which is getting its feedback from the CPU, and the CPU read the chamber temperature. I want to make this analog closed loop for simplicity.

Any thoughts on this?

Hello Salah,
Thank you for posting.

A thermo electric cooler element is commonly used in some chambers.
It is driven with a square wave of current, direction of current determines direction of heat flow.

DRV594 or DRV595 could be used to drive a TEC or heater element.

The DRV's have a control input that could be connected to a temperature sensor.

Already using this technique. I dont need to cool, just heat. And prefer analog linear than PWM so to reduce noise as much as possible. What I am looking for is linear closed loop control IC. Once I read a paper about such IC, dont recall its pn and if it was TI or Analog.

Hello Salah,
I found this application note on linear TEC drive.

It uses an OPA353 amplifier and INA155 current monitor.
