IWR6843ISK: Pre-built binaries for IWR6843ISK in mmWave Studio CLI Tool

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642BOOST, DCA1000EVM

Hello,

I want to confirm my understanding, from the developers guide, that the pre-built binaries included in mmWave Studio CLI Tool for the IWR6843ISK and AWR1642BOOST enable both communication over CLI and data streaming over LVDS to the DCA1000EVM data capture card.

Do these included binaries, specifically for the 6843, allow for enabling the hardware trigger as well as CLI and LVDS data streaming?

If not, where can I find tools to either accomplish this or develop a custom binary to do so?

Thanks,

Josiah W. Smith

  • Hello Josiah,

Our concerned expert on this will get back to you by next week.

    Thankyou for your patience.

  • Hello Josiah,

Binary (mmwave_Studio_cli_xwr68xx.bin) for 6843 is provided under pre-built-Binaries directory which you can flash to the device.

The same binary file is capable of receiving al the CLI command over UART from CLI-tool and stream LVDS data to DCA1000EVM.

On the other hand cli-tool*.exe is able to configure the device and DCA1000 to collect ADC data.

Source of this application is also provided in the same package along with CCS project, please follow the getting started document.

  • Thank you Jitendra for your reply.

Does the binary (mmwave_Studio_cli_xwr68xx.bin) allow for hardware trigger, CLI interface, and stream LVDS data to the DCA1000EVM?

    Thanks

  • It supports same feature as other binary of different mmwave sensor variants.

But it supports SW trigger, CLI interface, and stream LVDS data to DCA1000evm.

However this you can change to Hardware triggered mode by changing the application source code, which is provided in the same package.
