TMP1075: 1.8V supply with 3.3V I2C

Part Number: TMP1075

Hello,

The datasheet gives a maximum voltage rating of the SDA/SCL lines as 6.5V and no maximum listed in the recommended section.

Can the device be used with 1.8V on the V+ pin and 3.3V pull ups on the SDA/SCL pins?

Thanks,
Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Please note that in the Absolute Maximum table, the A2 pin voltage cannot exceed supply pin V+. The SCL/SDA pins would also be annotated this way if they could not exceed supply.

While the device will work powered by 1.8V and connected to 3.3V I2C bus, the Vil spec must be met for 0.3 * 1.8, not 0.3*3.3. Please take this into consideration.

    thanks,

    ren
