IWR1642BOOST: Update/change SDK version on the IWR1642 device

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST

Hi,

by using the mm_wave demo visualizer I know the SDK version on the device. (2.0).

How can I change this? I would like the: TI mmWave SDK 1.02.00.05.

Is it a matter of changing drivers? How?

Note: I don't want the demo visualizer to change SDK range, I would like to change the SDK on the board.

Thanks,

PC

  • Hello

Is there a specific reason that is making you want to try the older version of the SDK.

You may want to instead try and use the latest  version of SDK and Demo-labs that apply to the EVM/Deivce  you have.

Please see the section below to identify the device version and get the required applicable software/SDK available from our releases.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav

Getting the Required Demo software and/or SDK development platform for mmWave device/EVM :

(Please note limited history of software and Demos are retained)

    1) Find out the device/EVM Revision :

See instructions on  Tirex Docs page : https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=ADsPyX6E2a-akoJpFzxp2A__VLyFKFf__LATEST

    or

Check the device Errata to identify device marking.

    2) Determine Software/SDK available specific to device/EVM:

    2.a ) For Available Demo/Labs ( ready to load/run applications):

Check available demo- 'Labs' available on Tirex :

See the Table under labs page for the Tirex release : e.g : https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=ANNtaxZONu0PbSaUU.YiPQ__VLyFKFf__LATEST

To check the labs page for past Tirex releases,  browse older version of Tirex release:

TO browse older versions of Tirex releases : Click 3 vertical dots to see and select required versions :eg:

2.b ) Get device specific SDK version:

SDK History page to see available past releases:  https://www.ti.com/tool/download/MMWAVE-SDK#previous-versions

Identify supported EVM/Device : See the 'supported devices' mentioned on the release page specific to each SDK version.

    Or

Based on SDK version identified in step 2.a form a SDK release path string

eg  For identified SDK Version ...with SDK release 1.2.0.5 form the string as below

  • basically every demo labs is just a .bin file that you flash exactly like the demo for the demo vizualizer.

Every flashed .bin demo erases the previous one, and that s it (It will clearly affect the format with which the input cfg /output data are streamed).

    Ok thanks.

  • Hello

Yes that is right.   We provide .bin and config file for easy load and run and source code is provided for  users to start their development with.

    Thank you,

    Vaibhav
